Fourth Grade

I didn’t care that
Boy George
Looked like a girl.

I wasn’t entirely sure
What a fag was.

But I believed in Karma,
And knew if I was a
Chameleon
I’d come and go.

I’d come and go.

  1. Daniel,

This is definitely an improvement over the original. If it’s ok with you, we’d like to update our post to this version!

    Best,

  2. Man, I remember that song. First time I heard it, I just could NOT get it, rip it out of my head, for days on end. The beat was infectious; can’t even help humming it. Then I saw the video on jurassic-times MTV, and, well, I get what you mean. πŸ˜‰

  3. I can so identify with this. Except make it around 10 years earlier…and substitute the song, ‘Brand New Key’

Great poem. It feels lived in.

  4. Thanks. Chameleons are cool. The poem’s okay too.

  5. Nice and elegant. I dig the feeling like a chameleon, almost as much as I dig the poem entire. πŸ™‚
