Open Mic

I started reading at open mics about a year ago, with the intent of simply sharing what I read with others.  While these events are generally catered to musicians, I received a nice amount of praise from my poems.  But because of the large amount of musicians versus poets, I felt as if nobody was even listening to what I was reading.  I considered to stop going, but my faith in reading was restored, as witnessed in the video.  Please excuse the disheveled look.  Obviously, I had no idea I’d be filmed by the Los Angeles Times.
