Nostalgia (99 Luftballoons)

Guess I wrote this when I was feelin’ nostalgic.

October 17

It was overcast and drizzling.

I hummed 99 Luftballoons
As I pedaled my ten-speed
Through impish puddles
On my way home from the gym.

It was like being 10.

Impatient cars raced by.
I peddled slowly,

Savoring the scent of sullen streets,

And progressed
To singing out the song,

Wishing
I knew German.

  3. so which is more nostalgic: the song or the ten speed?

I like the way you ended it.

(I just did a poem for the rwp wordle and was forced into invoking old songs by the word rancid, which is only a band to me. you-tube is getting some use today!)
