They call me Daniel Romo (among other things). I am a writer, educator, fan of: gray sky, baseball, 90’s college radio, rap (‘87-’94), wooden pencils, Jesus, jazz, and other swell stuff. I earned an MFA in Creative Writing with an emphasis in Poetry from Queens University of Charlotte. My first book of poetry, Romancing Gravity, is forthcoming from Pecan Grove Press, and my second book of poetry, When Kerosene’s Involved, is forthcoming from Black Coffee Press. I teach high school creative writing, and watch too much sports and reality TV. I hope you like my writing. I hope you like my hair. Word(s).

Hi Danny, it’s your cousin Allison. Nice website
Can you please send me your email address
Sure.
Hey Daniel, I noticed we were both published in Penduline Issue 6. I enjoyed reading your piece “Aquamarine.” I hope you liked my flash fiction Noir piece, “Repaying a debt.”
Saludos, S.C.
Haven’t had a chance to read the whole issue yet, but I plan to. I’m glad you like my poem, and thanks for stopping by, Steve.
Cher monsieur Romo,
Found your blog google-ing “chola” (thx for the make up lesson btw) ; fell in love at first sight, reading your words ; hadnt had such a literary rush since DH Lawrence. Merci !
Your welcome for the lesson, Marie. And thanks for such awesome praise. Do come back
“Romancing Gravity” is a fantastic title and I like your hair. Surely there must be some post ’94 rap that you do like…
“You’re just now reading Who I Be”
Thanks, I’m pleased with the title. I suck with titles. Oh yeah, there is one- Wu Tang Forever (1997).
ahaha…I see you got jokes
No, I’ve read the “Who I Be” before but I just had to revisit your blog today since I noticed the prestigious recognitions you’ve received recently. Congrats, you deserve the nominations. Ah yes, Wu Tang Clan…nice.
Dear Mr. Romo,
I stumbled on to your blog, read the whole damn thing. You are missing a chip, for sure.
Best,
Manase
PS You are my new summer crush.
Um… okay?
Waddup Romo? Last weekend was fun as hell. You killed em with the “Scar Face” piece. Thanks for hanging out after your set was done. I saw Toquon on stage again this week with KRS-!. Hey, I plan to embarrass myself more with a chap book by early summer. If you get a chance before the end of the month, could you show me how to do it myself. Formatting and what not. Maybe meet at Viento sometime. Alright then, keep striking those keys.
Hey Max. Thanks. Had a great time! I think your chap should be called “Margarita… Margarita” -Be glad to help. Just let me know when.

Hi, Sweetie~
Just dropped in for a sec. Will visit longer later in the week. Veddy impressive credits. What does all this success do for you, to you? I’ll get back to you when I have time to spend making a few observations about the poems you sent (don’t get squoogy; by now you should know I don’t jump on anyone). Until then,
Big Hugz,
Rhoda
